Avoid these when travelling with kids!

Travelling with children can be a rewarding yet challenging experience. Being ready before-hand and keeping your child comfortable at all times is important for a hassle-free and joyful journey for you and your kid. This blog can help you avoid these common mistakes, whether you're going to a busy metropolis, a tranquil countryside, or a tropical resort.

1. Overpacking and Improper Packing

Overpacking: When travelling with children, it might be tempting to pack everything but overpacking, though, can cause tension and discomfort. It can be challenging to handle large, heavy luggage, particularly while travelling through airports, train stations or bus stands
Remedy: Bring only the essentials, and make time for washing, if necessary. Always remember, that in case you run out of minor supplies, you can always buy what you need when you get there.
Improper packing: Failing to bring essentials may leave you stuck. It can create an unpleasant situation if you miss crucial goods like medication, warm clothes (if going to a hill station), comfort items (such as a favourite blanket or toy), or emergency supplies.
Remedy: Create a list of essentials before you go on a trip or vacation.

2. Ignoring Health Precautions

Ignoring Health Care Preparations: Travelling frequently exposes you to unfamiliar places and bacteria. Health problems that can be easily prevented might result from not being prepared.
Remedy: See your paediatrician (if any) in advance, and go over any recommended immunisations or prescriptions. Make sure your first aid pack is well supplied with bandages, antiseptic wipes, painkillers, and any prescribed medicine that your kid might require. We all are well aware of how kids may get into all kinds of trouble when out on a vacation. We don’t want those bruised knees and cuts to go unattended, do we?

3. Over-Scheduling activities

Packing Too Many Activities: While it's thrilling to take advantage of everything a place has to offer, planning too many activities can leave parents and kids exhausted and stressed. If your child is used to taking an afternoon nap, then do keep that in mind while scheduling your itinerary, or you will be stuck with a cranky kid who is having meltdowns on the street.
Solution: Build some downtime into your schedule. Arrange a variety of activities, some of which should be free or easy. Make sure there is adequate room for rest in your timetable.

4. Neglecting to plan for food and drink

Children may be finicky eaters, and depriving them of their favourite meals might make them agitated and hungry. It's equally important to keep youngsters hydrated, especially when travelling. Dehydration can result from not drinking enough fluids, particularly on hot days or during physical activity.
Solution: Bring snacks and meals that your kids enjoy and will not get spoiled easily. To make sure you can accommodate any dietary needs or preferences, check into the local cuisine possibilities before travelling. Keep a reusable water bottle with you and promote frequent hydration. Don't forget to include any particular beverages your child may require, such as milk or formula.
